In June 2003 Cherry’s
debut SNAKE entered the Music Week urban top 20 as the highest new entry charting
higher than artists such as Pharrell ft Jay Z and R Kelly! Cherry also spent 16
weeks in the Blues & Soul magazines Hiplist chart and spent several weeks in the
Floorfillers chart as well as countless other UK urban
charts.
The rising star has been singing since nine years of
age and working semi-professional since the age of 12, Cherry signed to Hit-n-Mix
Music in November 2002 and has been working on her own tracks over the last
year.
In December 2003 Cherry was playlisted on BBC Radio
1Xtra by the Panjabi Hit Squad on their Desi Beats show with a bangara style mix
of her track Unobtainable and was also included in a feature in Blues & Soul
magazine giving Cherry recognition as one of the leading up and coming rnb singers
in the UK.
The B&S magazine went on to say; “talking of
talented teenagers, she looks good, she sounds superb, she sings urban, yet
amazingly, still Cherry remains unsigned to a major in the UK. This really baffles
me and probably frustrates the hell outta her!”
So what will
2004 bring for this talented teenager?
