Interview

By Alex Chaney

Q - What first interested you in modeling and what finally got you started

A - I liked the whole fashion scene and that sparked an Interest. Then when friends and family encouraged me to do It, It just seemed that much easier to pursue.

Q - What are your goals in modeling or other related interests

A - I would like to venture Into acting. Through the various auditions that I have been to, I have had many positive experiences which makes me also want to continue a career In that as well. Also from 1999-2001, I was a dancer for the Canadian Football League for the TORONTO ARGONAUTS. I enjoy dancing; mainly Hip-Hop and Jazz styles so that Is also another Interest that I also continue to do.

Q - How long have you been in the industry and what have you learned thus far

A - Seriously In the modeling field, It has been for about 5 years. I have learned that It Is not as easy as It seems. I have also learned that If something Is too good to be true, It generally Is. This Is one of the biggest fields that women time and time again get taken advantage of. So women need to be careful and make sure that you research If you are a freelance model. And If you have an agent, make she that He/She Is legit.

Q - Who are some our your role models in life and why

A - My mother. Because she Is a single parent who takes care of foster children and still has time to do all the things that she wants and she does not let anyone stop her. And so she expects that from me too.

Q - What are your recommendations to someone interested in becoming a model

A - Research, Research, Research. Do not look In newspaper ads for modeling agencies. Find out about popular agencies and find out when there are open calls. Most legit agencies you should be able to hear a PIN drop because they are not trying to get any and everybody Into their agency, they want models that may potentially make them money. And every model should know that an agent can not guarantee work, they can only tell you that you have potential to get work. If they guarantee work, RUN FOR THE HILLS!!!!!

Q - If you could go back and redo anything thus far in your career, what would it be

A - I would have loved to be a fashion designer. See? Can't seem to get away from the fashion field LOL!!!!

Q - What is your definition of Funky?

A - Originality, Trendy, Innovative.

Q - So what makes you so Funky?

A - I try to be original. I love going to vintage stores because almost every time someone asks me where I got a specific Item and I tell them knowing that they will never have the same thing!!!!

Q - Could you describe your version on the most perfect day in which everything was just perfect for you?

A - Just relaxing, getting a full body massage and going out for a wonderful dinner.

Q - What is your hidden weakness or personal passions?

A - That Is why It Is hidden!!!! LOL

Q - Verbal release. Is there something you would like to share with the N2F Family?

A -"I love doing the modeling thing but I do like for people to know that you have to come across intelligent so people do not take you for granted."

Q - What's in your CD player this week?

A - Justin Timberlake

Q - What motivates you, inspires you to go forward?

A - Having a great group of people support you when times are good and are there with even more motivation when things are not so great.

Q - Give a shout. Who or what should we be keep an eye out for in the next year?

A - This very young and very mature photographer. Her name Is Reesee. Let's just say that she Is not even 20 yrs old yet and has done amazing work. Not only for me, but for many others.
