ArtFx, a digital effects school in France, present “The Archiver,” an all-out sci-fi visual feast and no worse for it. I’ve watched it a few times now and still I don’t really know what’s going on, but I’ve had to wipe drool from my chin after each viewing regardless.

“Plot Device” runs the gamut of geek daydreams: there’s random gun battles, gas-masked aliens, zombies, massive spaceships and even crazy, Men In Black-style weapons. The effects are well done, and the sense of humor will keep you from clicking away.

Na Califórnia, uma fábrica de bonecas especialmente feitas para o sexo virou tema de uma criação artística intrigante. Fotos e videos foram feitos em cima da fábrica, para um projeto que se chamaCalifornia is a Place. A série das bonecas recebeu o título de Honey Pie, que em português quer dizert torta de mel.

O projeto foi idealizado por duas mentes apaixonadas pelo lugar onde vivem e por toda a sua pluralidade cultural. Da Disneylândia ao silicone, do surf às garotas na praia e mais todos os clichês já conhecidos, a Califórnia é o motivo da série de criações da dupla Drea Cooper e Zackary Canepari.

Sem muito falar sobre os tópicos por eles escolhidos para serem retratados, basta um olhar artístico sobre a situação que alguma interpretação surge. De fato, aguçam a curiosidade não falando a respeito mas somente mostrando, e ao terminar de consumir qualquer das suas séries destes artistas, dá vontade imediata de saber mais sobre o lugar, a pessoa, ou a coisa.

Instigar. Conhecer a Califórnia de Drea e Zackary é se deixar instigar pelos sentidos e pela arte que produzem. Materiais implacáveis e impecáveis, e um olhar bastante subjetivo desta que conhecemos tão superficialmente, Califórnia.

Public Enemy is back at it with the new single “Say it like it is” an homage to the rebels, the thinkers, the civil rights leaders. Be they black, white, blue, or brown. I was shocked to see them change their mind on Elvis as well. Like many folks in the 80′s we thought Elvis was racist and it turns out he was anything but. It’s nice to see them come to the same conclusion.
